Ronald P. Owen “Ron”, of Warminster, PA and formerly of Estero, FL passed away on Sunday evening, December 1, 2019. He was 85 years old. Son of the late Lester and Anne (née Parris) Owen, Ron was a graduate of Germantown High School and Ursinus College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and also played on the basketball team. He also served his country in the United States Army and worked as a chemist for Rohm and Haas in Philadelphia. In his free time, Ron loved watching sports and attending games for, especially college basketball for Florida Gulf Coast, and the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers. He also enjoyed golfing with the Beaver Boys, boating, fishing, sailing, and spending time at his shore home in Surf City, Long Beach Island, N.J.

Ron is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (née McElvenny) Owen as well as his children: Mary M. McCue “Mimi” and her husband John “Jack”, Ronald J. Owen and his wife Kathleen, and Maureen A. Umehara and her husband Michael as well as five grandchildren: Owen, Casey, Jacklyn, Maya, and Michelle. Ron is survived also by his sister, Diane Iverson-Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ron’s Life Celebration on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 605 Street Rd. Warminster, PA 18974 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. followed by his funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
