Obituary

Helen Regina (Maguire) Carr
It is with great sadness the family of Helen Regina (Maguire) Carr announces her
passing.
Helen was born on August 4, 1931 in Philadelphia at home to Margaret
(Rice) and Michael Maguire and as a twin sister to Dolores and youngest of eight
children.
She proudly raised her three children and all her fur children while caring
for the “love of her life and dance partner” husband, Bill. She worked throughout
her life before finally “retiring” from AARP. She was part of the St. Joseph and
Nativity of our Lord senior groups. She enjoyed family gatherings, tea outings,
Cape May visits and her Roman Catholic faith and her Holy Angels.
She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Carr and loving mother of
Cathy (Joe) Savitsky, Bill (Janet) Carr and Kevin Carr. She was the sister of the late
James (Marie) Maguire, Mary (Jim) Michael, Bill (Mary) Maguire, Peggy (Jack)
Cunniffe, Cass (Bill) Pinkerton, Dolores (Jack) McDonald and brother-in-law Al Fox.
She is survived by her sister Rosemarie Fox.
She dearly loved her grandchildren Joe (Sarah) Savitsky, Bill Carr Jr., Nicole
Savitsky, Caitlin Carr, Julie Helen (Jake) Carr and great-granddaughter Aubrey
Elizabeth Savitsky. Plus, all of her beloved nieces and nephews and those to whom
she was like a mom or grandmom, too. As the animal lover that she was, she also
dearly loved all her fur babies.
Relatives and friends are invited to Helen’s Life Celebration on Monday,
August 5, 2019 from 9:30-10:30 AM, followed by her memorial mass at 10:30 AM
at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 Street Rd, Warminster, PA 18974; interment St.
John Neumann Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to the Convent of Divine Love (Pink
Sisters): 2212 Green St. Phila., PA 19130-3197, the Josephites: 1130 N. Calvert St.
Baltimore, MD 21202-3802, the Alzheimer’s Association:
https://www.alz.org/delval or perform an act of kindness or light a candle.
The family would like to express gratitude to the loving caregivers and all at
Holy Redeemer Hospice. We also have appreciated all support from family, friends
and neighbors.
