Obituary for Richard Dale Porter

Print
Richard Dale Porter, of Warminster, passed away into God's tender care on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Abington / Jefferson Hospice in Warminster, PA. Dale’s loving family was at his bedside; wife Sheila Porter (nee Haub), and mother, Gail Porter (nee Yarwood), along with his sister Robin Maxwell (nee Porter), his nephews, Sean Maxwell, Ian Maxwell, along with his brother David Porter. Dale was born in Syracuse, New York on October 8, 1959, to Gail Y. Porter (nee Yarwood), and the late Richard Dale Porter, Sr. Dale was 59 years young. Dale graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, where he was known as Dale Porter. Later in life, Dale was also affectionately known as "RD" by his family and friends. Dale became a jack of all trades who was talented and skilled in many occupations. In Dale’s younger years, upon his graduation from Temple University, Dale enjoyed putting his Landscape Design Degree to use as Dale became well known in his business called “Arborscape by Dale Porter.” Dale believed in the “Frank Lloyd Wright” style of designing landscapes in the natural way. In later years, Dale attended Eastern Center for Arts and Technology where Dale’s studies gained him another degree, as Dale became a Certified Residential Electrician. Dale went on to own his own Company,”R. Dale Porter Electrical.” Dale was well respected in this field for his honesty and compliance with safety first. Dale was also a talented Welder, and very knowledgeable in Computer Technology. In Dale’s free time, he enjoyed spending time at Morris Arboretum, and also horseback riding with his horse “Madison” in Nockamixon State Park, with his mother Gail, and his wife, Sheila. Dale enjoyed bike riding and, in his younger years, enjoyed the thrill of skiing. Dale’s most favorite times were spent with his nephews, Ian Maxwell and Sean Maxwell. Discussing world events over an IPA was always a good time. Dale was always a dedicated teacher of gun safety. Dale’s final employment and dedicated profession was when he became a Chief Range Safety Officer at Wicen's Shooting Range, on Mozart Road, Furlong, PA. It was here that he taught gun safety, and hoped he could share his firearm knowledge in a safe and positive way. In addition to his wife Sheila, Dale is survived by his mother Gail Porter and his Sister Robin Porter Maxwell, and her husband, and Dale’s Brother-in-law, Patrick Maxwell, and their Children, Dale’s nephews, Sean Maxwell and Ian Maxwell, and Dale’s Brother, David Porter, along with David Porter’s children, Riley Porter, Delaney Porter, Brendon Porter, and Griffon Porter. Dale is predeceased by his younger Brother Benjamin Y Porter. Dale is also survived lovingly, by Sheila’s Daughter, through marriage, Amanda Mesaros and his Granddaughter Danis Joy Mesaros, Dale is predeceased by Sheila’s Daughter, Danielle Mesaros. Dale Porter was an honest and kind Man. Our family’s final request is that Dale Porter never be forgotten. Services for Richard Dale Porter at this time are pending.
